Silver Washed Summer

Into August and silver washed fritillaries are on the wing.  Two good sites in Norfolk to see this recent colonist are Foxley Wood and Holt Country Park, the latter being especially good but how do you photograph a butterfly when it sits on your head, shoulder and lens!!!  These are magnificent creatures as they glide through woodland rides or settle to nectar on bramble or thistle.  The woods are also excellent for other species including white admiral, brimstone, holly blue, ringlet etc.
