Silver Washed Fritillary

2nd of July 2017.  A day out with my daughter Victoria.  We visited some of our favorite spots around North Norfolk ending at Holt Country Park.  It was here we had very close encounters with the park’s fabulous silver washed fritillaries.  At one point there were eight nectaring on brambles within a few feet including a mating pair.  To my great delight there was also two females of the form valezina, the first I’ve seen.

There is a portfolio of photographs on the HOME page under “Silver Washed Frits 2017”

We also saw this delightful family of willow warblers being fed. The lighting is not great as they were in a very shady spot and the shutter speed is quite slow, hence not too sharp.
